Oak Hill Academy was the setting Friday, April 30, for a spring performance of Cafe' Murder, a melodrama by Nathan Harswick.  The high school cast of nine entertained grades 6-12 with a 1:00 matinee and 7:00 p.m. performance for parents, students, and friends.

The cast featured Reid Posey as Maitre'D the host and owner of the infamous Cafe' Murder, where Rosemary St. John, an unbearable hypochondriac played by Sarah Pryor, is celebrating her birthday with sisters Marjorie, a conservative banker played by Allyn Wamble; Melanie, a peace-loving hippie played by Delta Jurney; Valerie, a ditzy Valley girl played by Hannah McVay; and Volleny, a rugged truck driver played by Katelyn White.  When Rosemary goes missing in the restaurant's darkened ladies room, detective Regina Harris, a hyper, self-taught detective played by Mary Helon Hays is called in to investigate.  Complementing the Maitre'D's staff and adding intrigue to the list of suspects are the head waitress, played by Ashley Mooney, and the charming French Chef Sophia, played by Casey Pressler.

Adding to the production's festivities was a delightful performance in song by Carley Wilemon during intermission.

In addition to the cast, a host of backstage support staff kept everything running smoothly.  Mic staffers were Lauren Hitt and Sophie Miller.  Makeup artists were Mary Catherine Nash, Dessirrie Clardy, Ashley Young, and Susan Elizabeth Morris. The program was designed by Jennifer Morrison.  Tickets were sold by Samantha Hudson, Abby Falkner, Abby Kaiser, and Doss Miller. Lights were manned by Cole Fowler and David Pryor. Ms. Hope Robertson provided the sound and audio equipment as well as serving as director, along with fellow faculty directors Mrs. Mary Ann Berry; Mrs. Jill Fowler, who also provided the set backdrops; Mrs. Carolyn Stevens, and Mrs. Gloria Wilson.

Special thanks are extended to those who worked behind the scenes to ensure a successful performance: Mr. Mike Duke, Mr. Bill Miley, Mrs. Carolyn Lummus, Mrs. Lisa Morrison, Mrs. Linda Foster, and OHA Coaches.
